Sustainability in Our Almond Farms
Sustainability shapes how JSS Almonds grows, operates, and thrives. From our almond farms to our solar-powered facility, we make decisions that strengthen long-term prosperity, protect the environment, and support our communities. These three priorities guide everything we do. We are proud to build a supply chain where almonds are produced with care, responsibility, and vision. It’s how we honor the land and the people who rely on it.

Powered by Clean Energy
In 2015, we took a bold step by installing a 327-kilowatt solar power system. Just five years later, we expanded with a second array. Today, solar energy covers 95 percent of our facility’s power needs. This shift has transformed the way we operate. Clean, renewable power runs our processing lines, lighting, and equipment. It’s something we’re deeply proud of, and something we’re building on every year.

Deep Roots in Farming and Community
Over 60 growers contribute to JSS Almonds. Many are multi-generational families who have farmed the same land for more than a century. Their connection to the land runs deep. They choose sustainable practices because they want healthy orchards for decades to come. From conserving water to protecting pollinators, these growers farm with pride, rooted in traditions that value stewardship, legacy, and the well-being of their communities.
Smarter Farming, Healthier Soil
Our growers use some of the most advanced tools in agriculture. Micro-irrigation, soil sensors, and satellite imagery help fine-tune every drop of water and ounce of fertilizer. These efforts have cut water use by 33 percent in 20 years. When a tree reaches the end of its life, it’s returned to the soil, capturing carbon and enriching the land.
